Quakers in Britain and the Quaker Gender and Sexual Diversity Community (QGSDC) have expressed strong support for a ban on so-called conversion therapy. They shared their views in a joint response to a government consultation on the issue.

Next week the Heads of Quaker Agencies will be gathering, partly in London and partly online at the invitation of Quakers in Britain. We hope to build connections, explore deeper collaborations, and strengthen Quaker work around the world as a single, shared endeavour. This will help us work faithfully together to build a world in which Quaker values can flourish.

The hospitality team at the London offices of Quakers in Britain have won an award for the COVID-safe service they delivered over the last year. At the London Venue and Catering Awards 2021, the team topped the category for 'Best Client Support During COVID-19'.

As COP26 concluded, Quakers in Britain made this statement.
“COP26 has delivered tiny steps forward when giant leaps are needed.
“This is particularly unjust for people in the Global South who are feeling the first and worst impacts of the climate crisis, despite being least responsible for causing it.

Quakers in Britain welcome the appointment by Churches Together in England of a new General Secretary. Bishop Mike Royal will take up the position in March 2022 when Rev Dr Paul Goodliff retires.

On Wednesday 10 November, Quakers and Buddhists, people of all faiths and none, are holding a vigil for people around the world who are bearing the brunt of climate breakdown, to keep the issue of finance for 'loss and damage' on the COP26 agenda. The candlelit vigil will be outside the exit of the restricted Blue Zone of the UN climate talks – COP26 – in Glasgow at 5.30pm.

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the guns fell silent and World War I ended. More than 100 years later, at 11.00am on 11 November, the nations will pause to remember. In silence and hope.
