During their three weeks' festival of faith and fellowship, Quakers in Britain have been listening to the promptings of love and truth. One of their key decisions was to acknowledge and affirm trans and non-binary people.

Quakers in Britain concluded their three-week festival of faith and fellowship. At the end of their Yearly Meeting, their governing body, Quakers declared "We have pledged ourselves to continue to be a gentle, angry people who dare to live for truth and justice in a time of crisis."

Seventy six years ago, atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Thousands perished in these attacks, and countless others continued to suffer from the consequences of the bombings. This week and next Quakers are joining with others to remember the victims of this devastating violence, and to recommit to work for nuclear disarmament.

Yearly Meeting Gathering is well underway for more than 2,000 Quakers in Britain. They will be considering racial justice, climate justice and social inclusion. Already some stirring and sensitive sessions have set the scene for this three-week festival of faith and fellowship.

Quakers in Britain's very first virtual Yearly Meeting Gathering is underway. Almost 1900 Quakers are registered for their lively summer festival of faith and fellowship, business and deep Quaker stillness.
