Is peace too controversial for the classroom?
"If someone came to you with a video of their family shot by weapons you had sold or traded, would you see the defence exhibition in the same light?" "We have a 100% legitimate show organised with the MoD."* "That has nothing to do with my question. Would you get upset?" "Of course I would." "Why do you still do it then?"

6 ways to make Quaker meeting houses more sustainable
There are many ways to take action against the climate crisis. More than 100 Quakers recently took part in a mass lobby of Parliament at Westminster, urging MPs to take action. Others have been involved in school strikes, anti-fracking action and activism with the growing Extinction Rebellion movement. It's also important to remember that the sustainability we might call for in other areas of our lives applies to our Quaker meetings and meeting houses as well. Why compassion needs to be at the heart of our response to Channel crossings
Over the past months hundreds of fragile, overloaded boats have made the perilous crossing over the English Channel in search of refuge. For many of the men, women and children on board this is the last stage of a dangerous journey that may have taken them months or even years. They have been fleeing from war torn countries such as Syria, Sudan, Libya and Iraq, from repressive states such as Eritrea, and from countries like Mali where climate change and political unrest put lives at risk.
