QPSWCC 2 June 2026
Quaker Peace & Social Witness Central Committee (QPSWCC) discussed efforts to engage Quakers more widely in the work of QPSW, as well as consider issues of asylum and immigration and get a general update of QPSW activities.
What is this committee responsible for?
QPSWCC oversees national Quaker efforts to build a sustainable and peaceful world and helps shape Quaker positions on public affairs.
What did it do at this meeting?
The committee heard about the efforts to engage Quakers in QPSW work, to help discernment and avoid disconnect between Quakers and the work done on their behalf. We minuted our wish to create a 'tapestry of communication' between all the Quaker work that is happening across the country (not all of which is centrally managed) and the value of short, in-depth engagement on specific issues, like peace or ecocide.
The committee considered minutes, directed to us from Agenda Planning Committee, asking for a greater focus on asylum and refugees. Recognising the limited staff capacity (some of which supports local Quaker action on asylum), we agreed to engage with the groups involved.
