APC 21-23 November 2025
The Agenda Planning Committee (APC) of Yearly Meeting met to continue its work in planning for Yearly Meeting sessions from July 2026 onward.
What is this committee responsible for?
APC is responsible for planning Yearly Meeting in the new system of continuing Yearly Meeting sessions. They have been meeting since June 2025, and the first event which they will be responsible for will take place on Saturday 18 July 2026, at Kings House, Manchester.
What did it do at this meeting?
At this meeting APC:
- Agreed to experiment for its first couple of years with receiving minutes for consideration for the Yearly Meeting agenda from any clerked worshipping groups of Friends within the Yearly Meeting. This is a wider group than can currently send minutes to Yearly meeting Agenda Committee and Meeting for Sufferings – we hope this means that we will be able to hear and understand how the spirit is moving amongst Friends within the Yearly Meeting, and use the full breadth of what we hear to inform the Yearly Meeting agenda
- Clarified the process it will use to process and respond to minutes which it receives; and
- Agreed to simplify and shorten the advance information we send to Friends about Yearly Meeting events.
How can I find out more?
Once arrangements are finalised for the last 'annual' Yearly Meeting, which takes place from 1-4 May 2026 at Friends House, you'll start to hear much more from Quakers in Britain about the new style of Yearly Meeting events.
