Our faith in the future

Meeting for Sufferings, the representative body for Quakers in Britain, meets on Saturday. Named after its original purpose of recording the sufferings of Quakers imprisoned and tortured for their faith, 'Sufferings' meets six times a year. One hundred Quakers, from the north of Scotland to west Cornwall, gather in the Quaker central offices in London to discern national Quaker work.

Quakers at Greenbelt

This year Quakers in Britain is an associate at Greenbelt festival of arts, faith and justice. We're hosting discussions and kite-making workshops as well as storytelling, songs, panel debates and meetings for worship in the Quaker dome.

Quakers oppose expansion of cadets in state schools

In July's Budget, the Chancellor announced £50million to expand cadet forces across 500 state schools. This is the latest evidence of the creeping militarisation of schools by the Department for Education.
