Yearly Meeting registration opens

For the first time, Quakers in Britain will hold their Yearly Meeting online. Although the Yearly Meeting Gathering planned for August had to be postponed, on Sunday 15 November, up to one thousand Quakers will gather online for the highlight of the Quaker year.

Not since 1668 has anything – not even world wars – prevented Yearly Meeting. The COVID-19 pandemic has led Quakers to be a virtual worshipping community. At Yearly Meeting Quakers gather in stillness to listen to stories of experience and to the promptings of love and truth. This time, in a scaled down online event from 2.00pm till 4.30pm, they will worship, receive reports and manage required business.

Regretfully, there is no programme for children and young people on the day. They met in August.

Training for Zoom is available on 5 November at 6.30-7.30pm; on 8 November at 2.30-3.30pm; on 11 November at 2.30-3.30pm.

Registration for YM essential, from Thursday 29 October until midnight 10 November. There are only one thousand places available because of the way that Zoom works.
