The Virtual Cenotaph - a light projection onto Friends House
9 November 2025, London
At 5pm on 9 November, join us and Every Casualty Counts for their projection of a 'Virtual Cenotaph' onto Friends House, memorialising 100 civilians and soldiers killed in war in 2024.
On 9th November there will be a special event at Friends House to remember all victims of war, civilian and military, from all nations and peoples. At 5pm we'll be joining the Every Casualty Counts team who will project a 'Virtual Cenotaph' onto the Friends House building, memorialising 100 people killed in war in 2024, across many armed conflicts around the globe. This marks the launch of their 'Memorial 2025' project.
If you can, please bring votive candles or flowers with you.
As part of Alternative Remembrance Sunday, the projection follows the annual National Alternative Remembrance Ceremony in Tavistock Square at midday, where actor Mark Rylance and campaigner Rachel Taylor will be speaking. At 3pm you can attend the Movement for the Abolition of War's annual Remembrance Lecture at Hamilton House. John Alderdice is speaking on his book 'Ending Wars', before joining us in the Friends House garden at 5pm.
