What Do We Mean By Privilege?

The word 'privilege' is now being used in different ways – not just to indicate things which are a pleasure to accept, but to suggest some of the unearned benefits individuals may gain as part of their membership of dominant groups.

In this session, we will look at white privilege in particular as an example of a social structure which can distort relationships and hide inequality, especially from white people.
