Simplicity
14 - 16 July 2017, Radstock
This weekend course by Jennifer Kavanagh will explore what a simple life is, and how we can lead one.
At heart, simplicity is a focus on what matters most. Reducing clutter, whether in material objects, use of time or money, or in our religious practices, leads to an increased clarity of vision and focus: a view of life and its priorities that is in itself simple. Together and alone, we will consider how, step by step, we can move towards a state in which our attitudes and life are all of a piece, integrated and made one.
Jennifer is a Quaker, and a speaker and writer on the Spirit-led life. Her books include 'Simplicity Made Easy'. She writes: “Simplicity is not a lifestyle choice but rather an attitude of mind: a path for the inner as well as the outer life. My favourite definition of simplicity is removing the clutter between ourselves and God, the Spirit or the essence – whichever expression we are comfortable with. In this sense simplicity is the outward and visible sign of an inward and spiritual grace."
