Quakers and Ecospirituality
8 June - 2 August 2022, Online
How do we ground ourselves spiritually for environmental practice? This Woodbrooke course will draw together the contemplative and active aspects of Quaker tradition; learaning about and engaging in ecospiritual practices that connect, sustain and root people deeply in active justice.
Participants will learn about the concept of ecospirituality and enact eco-practices that reflect Friends testimonies, caring for and partnering with that of God in all other entities with whom we share this planet. While being grounded in Quakerism, the course will also invite participants to learn from others outside the Quaker tradition, expanding Quakerism in ways it may be limiting, and welcoming transformation in places where we have bought into white supremacy. Holding together interconnectedness, justice, and care, this course will encourage participation in a community of belonging.
The date period given for the course is when you are expected to interact with the online material and discussion forum; you can work on this at any time to suit you. The live Zoom sessions are at 16:00-17:00 (UK time) every Tuesday during this period.
