Quaker Conciliation: helping heal the wounds

8 November - 16 January 2022, Online

Are you interested in continuing the historic and contemporary Quaker contribution to a peaceful world through conciliation work?

If invited, British Quakers want to have a pool of people ready to respond. This course is not offering training for professional conciliation. It aims to provide an opportunity to learn, explore and question together what Quakers can offer in this field. Respecting confidentiality concerns, the course will not cover current QPSW conciliation work.

An intergenerational event in September 2019 explored Quaker conciliation leading to the book 'Dining with Diplomats, Praying with Gunmen', by Anne Bennett. One of the recommendations from the event was to strengthen the pool of Friends with the skills for conciliation work.

Woodbrooke and Quaker Peace and Social Witness working in partnership.

The need for a Quaker contribution to conciliation in Britain was strongly felt at the event and is being taken forward elsewhere. This course is concerned with international conciliation. It is open to adult Friends of all ages. Bursaries are available.

*This course is now fully booked.
