Junior Yearly Meeting 2027
24 - 28 July 2027, Hull
24–28 July 2027 | University of Hull
Meet other young Quakers, explore what matters to you and be part of a community at Junior Yearly Meeting (JYM).
JYM is a residential gathering with worship, small-group discussions, speakers and community activities. It is planned and led by a committee of young people, supported by staff and adult volunteers.
In 2027, JYM will take place alongside Yearly Meeting Gathering. You'll have time together as a JYM community, as well as opportunities to join activities and worship with Quakers of all ages. The theme will include exploring the new Book of Discipline.
Who can come?
JYM 2027 is open to young people born between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2011. You don't need a close connection with a Quaker meeting to be considered: you might know Quakers through family or a young people's group.
You can attend without your family or an adult from your meeting, but you should be able to travel independently to Hull. You'll stay in a separate accommodation block with the JYM community.
How to get a place
Ask your local or area Quaker meeting about being nominated for JYM. If you're interested, get in touch early so there's time for the meeting to consider your nomination.
Most Area Meetings have two guaranteed places and can nominate two more young people for additional places, subject to availability. Some area meetings have a larger allocation.
Your area meeting submits the nomination form. We'll then ask your parent or carer to complete a consent and information form to confirm your place.
After JYM, you'll be asked to share something of your experience with your meeting or school.
What does it cost?
The cost is £395, including accommodation, all meals and activities. Talk to your area meeting about paying for your place and travel; we encourage meetings to cover travel costs for their representatives.
