Junior Yearly Meeting 2026
3 - 7 April 2026, Kidderminster
Junior Yearly Meeting (JYM) is a welcoming, exciting and thought-provoking event for young people that is open to anyone born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2019. JYM 2026 will be a residential event at the Pioneer Centre near Kidderminster.
Whether you have recently discovered Quakerism or have been a Quaker all your life, JYM offers the opportunity to meet new people, make friends through social activities and engage with spiritual practices and ideas.
The event is run by young people, who are supported by a team of adults.
JYM PLACES
There are two ways to come to JYM, by nomination or by an open place.
Nominated places:
Young people are "nominated" to attend the event. This means that area meetings, Quaker schools or overseas yearly meetings ask young people whether they would like to attend.
Nominate a young person to attend JYM
Information about JYM nominations was sent to area meeting clerks in August 2025. This includes these documents:
- JYM 2026 Nomination Letter
- JYM 2026 Nominations Guidance
- JYM 2026 Participant Leaflet
If a young person would like to be nominated to come to JYM, speak to your meeting clerk or headteacher (Quaker schools). If you don't know your meeting clerk, contact the Youth Projects and Events Administrator (details below) and they will be happy to put you in touch.
Open places:
To apply for an open place, contact the Young People's Administration & Project Officer (details below) and they will be happy to give you further information.
Deadlines
There are two deadlines for coming to JYM. The first is for Nominations and open places; the second is for the parent/guardian to confirm that the young person would like to come to JYM.
The deadline for area meetings to make nominations and for open place bookings is Monday 12 January 2026.
The deadline for parent/guardian and participants confirming places is Monday 26 January 2026.
