Evil Queens and Wicked Stepmothers

From Delilah and Jezebel to the Whore of Babylon, scripture offers strong archetypes of villainesses. In this six-week course, we will consider the stories of these evil queens and wicked stepmothers in the Bible and how they appear in culture. How can we understand and transcend these narratives? How do they reflect our own experiences?
The course, based on six live sessions using Zoom, will include a combination of lectures and experiential activities, with small and large group discussions. We will use spiritual practices to empathize with vilainesses in the bible and understand how they fit into the Biblical tradition. In addition, learning materials, session recordings, and a discussion forum, will be made available online.
The date period given for the course is when you are expected to interact with the online material and discussion forum; you can work on this at any time to suit you.
The live Zoom sessions are at 19:00-20:30 (UK time) every Wednesday during this period.
