Do Quakers Have a Testimony to Equality?
19 January 2023, Online
In this live session we will explore the issue of Quakers and inequality across history. We tend to assume that Quakers have always had a testimony to equality, but the evidence does not support this.
We will look at examples of Friends upholding inequality in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. This session is one of an ongoing series of sessions on Quakers, racism and colonialism, looking at the topic from a number of different aspects: theology, history and witness to peace and equality. When you register for this session, you will be given access to a resource page where recordings of all the sessions will be posted.
