Can Quakers and Pagans Learn From Each Other?
19 October 2022, Online
What do outdoor rituals and meeting for worship have in common? What can the Wheel of the Year offer a community who traditionally don't mark special days? We'll explore these and many other questions in a session of positive sharing.
The Pagan and Quaker communities in Britain today have some things in common. On the practical level, both mainly consist of people who found their spiritual home in adulthood. In attitude, both tend to favour independent thinking and experimenting with new ideas. They have very different traditions, but often overlapping values, which means there's much the two can learn from each other.
Kevin Redpath and Rhiannon Grant both have experience of participating in the Quaker and Pagan communities. In this session, they'll share some of what they have learned from this process and make space for participants to ask questions, offer insights, and explore further. Central ideas in bother the Pagan and Quaker traditions will be explained as they arise, so no previous knowledge is needed.
