Building Resilience…

28 October - 1 December 2022, Online

...in Ourselves and in Our Communities

The climate crisis requires both inner and outer responses from us; this course will help to nourish us in our personal wrestling with the issues. We will draw on Quaker and other sources of insight and inspiration, and tune our outer responses to our personal capacity and situations.

This will help us clarify how we can witness to truth and give service to our communities, overcoming the barriers which sometimes prevent communication with others about the emergencies and developing mutual support in action.

We will create space for sharing our reactions and responses around the climate and ecological emergencies in a safe setting, and share and develop spiritual resources to assist with grief, anger and despair.

Moving to the practical, participants will share the experiences of their own communities in coping with weather catastrophes such as flooding and with the pandemic crisis in 2020-21. We will pool ideas so that participants leave the course enabled, if they choose, to engage with their communities to build resilience – whether in practical, emotional or social ways.

The date period given for the course is when you are expected to interact with the online material and discussion forum; you can work on this at any time to suit you

The live Zoom sessions are at 19:00-21:00 (UK time) every Tuesday during this period.
