Anti-racism and a journey with Whiteness
1 February 2023, Online
A chance to hear from our 2022 Eva Koch scholars with a focus on racial justice. Kate McNally is gathering information on how Quaker meetings in Britain are working on racial justice and Meredith Freeman explores her personal journey to anti-racism.
Kate is a member of Belgium and Luxembourg Yearly Meeting. She has conducted a survey of racial justice work in Quaker meetings in Britain. She will share the results with Friends throughout Europe to stimulate ideas and perhaps form a network of Friends involved in anti-racist work.
Meredith lives in Newport, South Wales and her research has the working title 'No Justice, No Peace – A Call to Right Order'. This is inspired and informed by her dawning awareness of her whiteness and what it means to allow ourselves to be led.
