Acting for Faith-based Climate Justice

26 July 2022, Online

Do you want to join with other Quakers to act on our commitment to faith-based climate justice? Do you want to find out and learn from what others are doing? We are stronger together. These monthly live sessions are an opportunity to be together in spirit and to learn about different ways in which we can take action.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports and Quaker advocacy

Did you know that Quakers are the only faith-based organization actively engaged in negotiations of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) climate science reports? This year, the IPCC presents its massive 6th Assessment Report, taking over seven years to develop and involving thousands of scientists worldwide. These reports have been used by citizens across the globe to hold their government's insufficient action to account. Why did Quakers get involved in the first place, what do we say there, how do we influence, and how can IPCC Reports help our climate justice efforts? Come listen to Lindsey Fielder Cook (quno.org/about/staff), Quaker UN Office Representative on Climate Change, and Susanna Mattingly, Sustainability Officer of Friends World Committee for Consultation.
