A Spiritual Anthology: a toolkit for silence
9 - 13 September 2022, Birmingham
Is Quaker experience of the Divine unique, or have similar insights bubbled up in other contexts? This quiet retreat at the Woodbrooke Centre is an invitation to rest and be refreshed by new light from a variety of different sources, spiritual and also secular.
Quaker insights are often echoed or foreshadowed in other places and hearing about the spiritual journeys of others can help us to better understand our own. We will draw on an “anthology" of writings and spiritual practices from different traditions, selected to lead us into stillness, where we can deepen our inner Silence and discover its riches.
This extended retreat blends silent time alone with regular short, tutor-led offerings on the experience of silence. It will include a Quiet Day in the peaceful surroundings of Woodbrooke's gardens and there is the opportunity to meet one-to-one with one of the tutors if you wish.
Departures will be after breakfast on the final morning.
