Chilterns Friends sleep out to support homeless people

On Saturday 2 March, in freezing temperatures, Friends from Chilterns Area Meeting slept in the garden of Amersham Meeting House to support the “Big Sleep Out" organised by High Wycombe Homeless Connection.

The intention of the event is “solidarity with those who have no home, a chance to raise awareness of homelessness in your community, and an opportunity to raise money". A Friend taking part commented “for us it was a one-off endurance test - and in luxury circumstances (warm rooms and food before and after, kitchen to boil water for hot water bottles AND toilets!) - but for those for whom we were raising money it's something they have to endure night after night. It makes me sad and angry."
