What happens at Yearly Meeting

Yearly Meeting 2020

Quakers come together in stillness to listen to stories of experience, recognising and responding to the promptings of the Spirit and wisely using gifts to work with others to tackle the causes of injustice and inequality. However, this time the emphasis will be on worship and receiving reports and managing required business.

The content of Yearly Meeting 2020 will be planned by Yearly Meeting Agenda Committee, who will consider which business is required and what Friends can share collectively.

Yearly Meeting 2021

The postponed Yearly Meeting Gathering will be held from 31 July–6 August 2021 at the University of Bath.

We hope for a 2021 Gathering that builds on the planning already in place and also reflects the changes in our world and our Quaker concerns in the intervening year. Yearly Meeting Agenda Committee will be looking at this and there will be further information later in the year.

At the heart of the Gathering will be Yearly Meeting where we will meet together in worship and reflect on the issues brought by Agenda Committee. Together we will try to create an inclusive community, a loving container to hold us in our urgent concerns and provide strength as we move forward.

At the Gathering there will be a variety of activities that you can take part in, from early morning yoga, to special interest meetings, interesting discussions, art activity and evening film shows.

We will have places for old Friends and new to meet and talk, and for quiet reflection.
