JUL 18

My Soul Looks Back and Wonders

18 July - 15 August 2024, Online

Learn about Black Theology through the work of influential Black liberation theologian James Cone. We'll discover how he redefined the work of theology, accompanied by Anthony Reddie's recent book Introducing James H. Cone: A Personal Exploration.

The fist of a man of colour raised against a pale background

We will read and study the book Introducing James H. Cone: A Personal Exploration (Anthony Reddie, SCM Press, 2022; we suggest borrowing this from a library or buying a copy). This will be supplemented with readings from Cone himself (provided through our online learning system), video recordings, lectures, and live online discussions via Zoom.

This course will be of particular interest if you have ever wanted to learn more about the origins of Black Liberation Theology and its core theological claims.

The live Zoom sessions are 19:00-20:30 (UK time) every Thursday.
