What Happens in Meeting for Worship?

Meeting for Worship is a central Quaker practice, but it can be a bit of a mystery! To explore it, we'll spend time together in silence and discussion. We'll cover the diversity of spiritual experiences, spoken ministry, and the use of Advices & Queries.
This day will be helpful for anyone who wants to understand Quaker worship better – why do we meet, what do we expect, and what actually happens? Whether you have been attending worship all your life or recently came for the first time, sharing experiences with others and understanding the tradition better will help you engage in the practice more fully.
During the day we will experiment with periods of silence and worship, and discussion in different groups. This will give us a chance to talk about our own experiences and listen to those of others in a relaxed and worshipful environment. By the end you should have heart and mind prepared for meeting on Sunday!
