What Could Reparations Mean for Me? For Us?

25 October - 15 November 2023, Online

In this course we will explore together what reparations could mean- for each of us as individuals, for our Quaker communities. What were and are the harms that need repairing? What are the different ways we could try to do that?

Reparations may feel huge, daunting and impossible for you. In this course we will break down different kinds of reparations and explore what they could look like as individual and collective engagements in social transformation and healing.

This course is for people who have already done work to understand their own white privilege and how white supremacy culture shows up in their lives and in Quaker or other faith communities. We will assume participants already have this understanding, vocabulary and awareness.

If you are interested in this course but haven't yet taken part in an intermediate-level course like Woodbrooke's 'What's next? Becoming an anti-racist ally', please attend this course (or one like it) first and check back on the Woodbrooke course list again at the beginning of 2024- we will hope to run this course again.
