MAY 18

Quaker Roles: Introducing

18 May 2023, Online

Do you wonder who does what and why at Quaker meetings? Find out the fundamentals in this lively session looking at the structures, purpose, links and diversity of Quaker roles.

This informal and interactive session provides you with an opportunity to more fully understand and appreciate the range and purpose of roles in your local Quaker meeting. We'll talk about how a Quaker community runs and who does the work. This is ideal for anyone new to Quakers, curious about Quaker practice or wondering about taking on a role in the future.

The course tutors have each held a range of different roles (including elder, trustee, and pastoral care roles) and bring an accessible and welcoming style to this topic.

You may also be interested in the second session in this series. 'Quaker Roles: Exploring' considers roleholding in more depth, and is designed for those who are considering taking up a role, whether after an informal approach or nomination. (add link)
