Going Inside: Prison chaplains training

It will also encourage you to reflect on the Quaker basis of your ministry within a multi-faith team and to deepen your understanding of the role.

Open to all Quaker Prison Chaplains, both recently-nominated and those with experience. The course will be led by two experienced serving chaplains and will combine live Zoom sessions with individual study and reflection to inform your practice.

There will be about 2 hours of individual tasks and reflection in preparation before each live session so there be some material to look at prior to the first session. We will email you around one week prior to the course with information about accessing the course, including this material, on our online learning platform (Moodle).

Tuesday 3 October 19:30-21:30

Saturday 7 October 10:00-12:30

Tuesday 10 October 19:30-21:30

Friday 13 October 14:00-16:00

The live sessions will not be recorded so you need to join all sessions to get the full benefit from the course.

The fourth session will be held from 14:00-16:00 on Friday 13th October at the Penny Brohn Centre, Bristol, prior to the annual conference. Attendance at this session is available either in person or on-line. If you wish to remain at the venue for the Quaker Prison Chaplains Conference you will need to book the conference separately through Quaker Life/BYM. Conference details will be published toward the end of August (via QPC e-mail and on the Quakers in Britain website). Please ensure you complete the check box on the booking form to inform us if you intend to be present in-person or online at the fourth Going Inside session.
